Our Mission
Hevel is a Christian nonprofit taking redemptive action within communities to develop and implement biblically based community development strategies and initiatives.
Redemptive Action is any work that brings our current context closer to God's vision for our communities, guiding them deeper into God’s justice, peace, and purpose. Hevel Foundation does this work in the context of community development.
Our Process
Our Process
1) Theology
Our first step is study scripture to understand how God looks at our fallen nature and redeem our situations. This process is industry specific.
2) Analysis
Our second step is study our current context to understand what gaps we can fill and explore how we can serve our community.
3) Project Creation
The last step is to create programs to fill the gaps in our communities through programs that meet the needs of our community.

Our projects provide social services to our communities. Currently, we have started with one program named The C.O.R.E.
The C.O.R.E.
The C.O.R.E. is Hevel Foundation's first project, seeking to take redemeptive action in the youth adn workforce development space.

Founder: David Mahan
David has spent most of his professional career working tangentially with youth and in affordable housing. In 2023, David published Foolish Genius to give aspiring Changemakers the tools to determine if the change they create is leading themselves and their constituents to a rewarding and more equitable future. He has since led his own youth program for several years, become a returning guest lecturer at The Ohio State University, and has served on the board (as a Director and/or Advisor) for several local organizations working in housing and youth development.
